Breakfast, or the first meal of the day, is one of the things most different from country to country. I will never really get used to egg and bacon in the morning, nor black coffe with a croissant and jam. Being Scandinavian, one of the (many) things I really appreciate about Germany is their salty breakfast with dark bread, ham and cheese and yoghurt - just the way it is supposed to be. Sure, I will always miss 'filmjölk' but kefir is a decent subsitute and the weekend brunches is my way to savour all that is good in terms of fresh fruit, creamy yoghurt, newly baked bread, tender ham and stinky cheese.
I have, however, found that it is not the easiest thing to find a good brunch place in the different parts of town. Or maybe I should say, it is easy to find a good brunch place but why settle for a good place when there is a great one around the corner that you just don't know about? So I've been going around the various neighbourhoods of Berlin trying out brunch places (and the occasional restaurant, bar, café...) gathering knowledge that I now thought I should make more easily accesible - in a blog!
